The 1st 8th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational
Wednesday, March 24th, 2010
The golden ooey-gooey original returns! Before there were grilled cheese trucks and gourmet grilled cheese at gastropubs, the Grilled Cheese Invitational began in 2003 as a house party in a downtown loft, as a group of friends competed to see who made the best grilled cheese. Now thousands of people attend this massive cheese-tastic festival: attendees sample grilled cheese sandwiches from hundreds of competitors and cast their votes for the best sandwich! Featuring live music, a beer garden, comedy, discussions from world-class chefs like Eric Greenspan (Top Chef, The Foundry), circus performers and the madcap antics of the creative minds behind the GCI. Get your tix early: this event sells out, and last year's line to get tickets was hours long.
